Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack: User Access and Permissions

An overview of the user management, access control, and permission features included in the Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack.

Updated today

Introduction

The Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack provides additional capabilities that help organisations manage user access, permissions, and governance within Wovex.

This article focuses specifically on the user-related features included in the pack. These capabilities allow administrators to control how users access the system, manage user roles, and restrict access to information when needed.

For general guidance on inviting users, assigning licence roles, and managing access to Workspaces, see Managing Users in Wovex: Inviting, Roles, and Permissions.

What this article covers

The Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack introduces several additional user governance capabilities, including:

• Customising user permissions
• Restricting access to specific items using Workspace Permissions
• Advanced user management and user deactivation
• Self-registration for Guest users
• Single Sign-On (SSO)

The sections below introduce each capability and explain how it supports stronger governance of your Wovex environment.

User governance capabilities included in the pack

Customising user permissions

Wovex provides three standard licence roles:

• Administrator
• Standard
• Guest

Each role provides a predefined level of access to functionality within the system.

With the Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack, organisations can request adjustments to these default permissions where different governance or operational requirements exist.

Enterprise administrators can contact Wovex through Messenger to discuss permission configuration requirements.

Restricting access to specific items

Administrators may need to limit which items users can see or edit within a Workspace.

With the Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack, administrators can control access to selected items using Workspace Permissions.

This feature allows administrators to restrict who can view or edit specific initiatives, measures, or other items within a Workspace.

For example, administrators may allow a user to see only a defined set of Measures rather than the entire Workspace.

For example, if you are inviting users as Standard users and only want them to see five Measures:

- Select these five Measures

- Use 'Workspace permissions' (More > Workspace Permissions) to manage the permissions.

Enterprise user management

Administrators with the Enterprise Governance add-on pack can manage users directly from the User Management screen.

Settings > Access > Users

This allows administrators to remove access when users leave a team, change roles, or should no longer have access to Wovex.

Administrators can:

• Review all users and their current status
• Deactivate users individually
• Deactivate multiple users in bulk

Users who are removed from access are normally deactivated rather than permanently deleted, allowing them to be reactivated if needed.

If complete removal is required for data privacy or compliance reasons, Wovex administrators can permanently delete the user.

Self-registration for Guest users

Organisations using the Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack can enable self-registration for Guest users.

This allows organisations to let contributors create their own accounts without needing an administrator to invite them.

When enabled, users can create their own accounts and access Wovex with Guest-level permissions.

Administrators can still review and manage these users through the User Management screen.

Single Sign-On (SSO)

The Enterprise Governance Add-on Pack also supports Single Sign-On (SSO).

When SSO is enabled, users authenticate through their organisation’s identity provider rather than creating and managing a Wovex password.
