How to mass edit Baselines, Forecasts and Targets

Easily set, adjust, and apply baselines, forecasts, and targets.

Updated over a week ago

Setting and updating baselines, targets, and forecasts used to take time, especially when you needed to apply updates across multiple time periods or calculate values consistently.

With Wovex, this process is now much faster, easier, and more flexible. With just a few clicks, you can manage all your tracking data in one place.

Making complex updates simple

In the past, managing future or historical tracking values could involve multiple manual steps, such as:

  • Entering new target values every time something changes

  • Manually updating baselines across future periods

  • Re-using calculated values for forecasts or targets without re-entry

Wovex now makes all of this straightforward. You can update Baseline, Target, or Forecast values directly from the Tracking Data screen — individually or in bulk — using calculated values or entered numbers.

Key advantages

This feature saves you time and effort when managing tracking data. You can now:

  • Apply calculated values (using Wovex Calculation Approaches) to Targets, Forecasts, and Baselines, not just Actuals

  • Populate all future or past periods in a few clicks

  • Choose whether to update one value type or several at once

  • Quickly set or adjust a baseline using a calculated or entered number

These improvements make ongoing data management easier, quicker, and more consistent across your measures.

Supported use cases

You can now populate Baseline, Target, or Forecast values using any of the following methods:

  1. Use a calculated Actual value — apply the result of a Wovex Calculation Approach as the basis for your other fields.

  2. Use an entered value — input a new number directly.

  3. Use an existing value — select an existing Baseline, Target, or Forecast value to copy across.

How to use

  1. Go to Tracking Data.

  2. Right-click on a Tracked Measure and select Manage Baseline, Target, Forecast.

  3. Choose what to update — Baseline, Target, or Forecast (you can select more than one).

  4. Choose what value to use:

    • An entered number, or

    • The Actual, Baseline, Target, or Forecast from the selected row (the current values are displayed for you to confirm).

  5. Approve the summary of the changes.

  6. Choose whether to apply the update to all past and/or all future values.

If you’re using a calculated Actual as the source value, first make sure the Actual is calculated on the selected row — it can then be reused for your Baseline, Target, or Forecast values. You can reset it after if needed.

With Wovex, managing baselines, forecasts, and targets no longer requires time-consuming manual work.
You can now:

  • Keep your data aligned and accurate across all time periods

All of this can be done in seconds, directly within the Tracking Data screen — helping you spend less time maintaining data and more time analysing what it tells you.
